Where have all the bees gone? #Bees pollinate crops from coffee to fruits and vegetables for human consumption, and flowering plants for land ecosystems. Since 2004, bee populations around the world have begun to dwindle, sometimes in alarming proportions, termed Colony Collapse Disorder (CCD). According to Scientific American, thousands of beekeepers have reported losses as high as two thirds of their honey bees. Widespread use of #pesticide and climate change are two major causes. Left unchecked, if bees #disappear altogether, life on Earth as we know it would be drastically different, perhaps even to the point of #collapse.
