Sebastiao Salgado at Art Salon: Art for Nature

Sebastiao Salgado was guest speaker at Art Salon: Art for Nature organized by Art Stage Singapore and Sundaram Tagore Gallery. A guru relating his life experiences and visionary ideas.

The audience listening attentively at what must have been a Yoda Moment (at least for me if I got his accent right) when he said: "There are very few photographers today. There are many image makers, but very few photographers. People call me an artist. But I say I am a photographer. It is a grace to be a photographer."

Even though his accent was hard to catch, there was no raised up platform which caused him to be blocked by the audience seated in front of me, which made it even harder to strain my ears to listen, I found it awe inspiring when he said " I have taken many trips all over the world, but the longest trip I have taken was into myself"....also also another one "You must find the light in yourself, there is a light in every photographer...find it" (something to that extent la)...well worth the visit!
